Lucky #13 Rub

Home::Recipes > Rubs  |  September 2021

The origin of the name may be lost, but the Lucky #13 Rub musn't. It took years, but here it is. All hail the chile-heads.

Tangy. Smokey. Spicy. Sweet. This rub has it all and is hands-down one of my favorite Rib Rubs.

Recipe

Yield: Enough for 3 Racks of Ribs
Prep time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

5 tsp dark brown sugar
2 tsp Cattleman's Smokey Chipotle rub
1 tsp granulated california garlic
1 tsp coarse ground black pepper
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp hot paprika
1/2 tsp ground jalapeno pepper
1/2 tsp ground ancho pepper

Combine all. You can add 1/2 tsp regular hungarian paprika for more color.

Try following the Game Day Ribs recipe, but instead use Cholula instead of Tiger Sauce when you foil.
